Traveling to The Hague for GES

Recently, we were selected to be a part of the GIST Catalyst competition at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in The Hague, Netherlands. This event was put on by the US Department of State and the government of The Netherlands. It was held at the World Forum in The Hague, and had over 2,000 entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and other participants from around the world.

In order to reach the semifinals, we had to advance through several stages of the competition including an initial application review to compete, a 90 second pitch video, and placing among the top five competitors following a global public vote. It was a great experience, and I had a chance to meet the Deputy Secretary of HHS, eat some raw herring, and hang out at the US Ambassador’s house in The Hague in The Netherlands. Apparently the herring is a delicacy - but it wasn’t my type of food.
